Thing 30 My Thoughts.......
Wow.. I'm wrapping up the Learning 2.0 experience. I think the entire experience was a positive and successful one for me. I am amazed at the number of technologies we looked at over the past weeks. I think working on this as a staff led to numerous creative discussions on our various weekly discovery exercises. The only thing I would suggest is to allow more time in finishing the program and you have already put that in place. I know over the holidays it was difficult to keep up. I really attempted to stay in the weekly time frame because it forced me to be on top of each assignment. My challenge now is to keep using the new skills which I have acquired. I would participate in another discovery program in the future. Thanks for moving us forward on Web 2.0.
Thing 29 Blogging about my Learning 2.0 Experience
My Learning 2.0 experience was a very productive way to discover the new technologies available on the Web. The total immersion into this technology week after week was a valuable way to acquire new technology skills. The entire exploration process was stimulating and relevant to me both personally and professionaly. My favorite discovery exercise was Thing 23 YouTube. I found YouTube easy to navigate and a site where you could spend hours exploring. I can see using YouTube for instructional purposes on a library website. I was first introduced to YouTube through Common Craft-Explanations in Plain English. The Learning 2.0 technology training was a great collaborative exercise for staff to be involved in.

Thing 28 Roll Your own search tool with Rollyo
I can appreciate this weeks electronic exercise. Rollyo allows you to create your own search tool for the websites you know and trust. This Rollyo site was easy to navigate. I had to create a new user name as the first one I put in was already taken. I will attempt to select the searchroll

Thing 27 Library Thing
I created an account in LibraryThing. I like all the features available to the user. The virtual shelf, the unsuggester, adding LT to your blog. The site was easy to navigate. Also adding books to my library was a simple procedure. I will suggest this site to my customers who want to keep track of what they read. There were so many ways a reader could share information on this site. I can direct you to my LibraryThing catalog now
Thing 26 Online Image Generator
I had fun looking at images this week. The picture you see in this blog is from The Generator Blog site. I think the more images you have in your blogs the more interesting it is to the reader. I will include a link to this blog. I hope this link works

Thing 25 Podcasts and Video
I looked at several of the discovery resources. I found The Library Channel to be a highy devloped site.Streaming videos, podcasts, RSS feeds, audio tours, tutorials, videos are some of the choices the patron can choose from on this Library Channel (Arizona State University) site. The Denver Public site comes with a short summary of each podcast. The Denver site offered direct downloads to MP3 player, free software player options and specific instructions on how to subcribe to a podcast. Finally,I did find the LibSuccess Wiki very helpful because you can find out quickly which libraries offer podcasting and other resources.

Thing 24 Useful tools for locating podcasts
I looked at all three podcast directories and found Podcast.net to be the easiest to navigate. I added an RSS feed to my Google Reader account. Once I was on an unfiltered computer the process went a little more quickly and I was actually able to hear a podcast. WebSense blocked access on staff computers.
